Pebble - Smart Plant Pot

As part of a project I created and and developed a product centered around this idea of health and well being in the home. This took place over a few months and was my final product as part of my product design course, this is a small selection of the work that when into the product from both researching prototyping various outcomes which involved both the product itself and the various branding.
The product was developed to help promote positive mental health in the home to younger students under stress and anxiety while looking sleek and modern. The idea is that users will take care of the plants and in return the plants will take care of them through the benefits they bring to the home. The product will aim to motivate and inspire users to keep their plants health and reinforce a positive relationship with nature in their surroundings and allow people to help grow a connect to the plant they are taking care of.

Early sketching of ideas and concepts
A range of prototypes were created using a 3d printer, this allowed experimentation with materials such as printing in wood, polycarbonate and a range of other filaments with different properties. This prototyping allowed me to improve my design with each step. For the internal aspect I using an Arduino Uno board with a wide variety of sensors such as a moisture sensor to take data from the plant and send it to a device. This also allowed the use of LED lights to display moods of the plants. The sensor is placed inside the pot and is connected to the arduino.
